Along the road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13-35), the two disciples were filled with the agony of grief after the death of Jesus. They struggled to understand and to cope with loss -- so much so that they did not immediately recognize the presence of Jesus in their midst. When we are enveloped in grief, how do we understand it? How do we cope with it? And how do we come to recognize the loving presence of Jesus in our midst?
