An Evening Prayer to mark the special Season of Creation.
The Season of Creation begins on September 1st, “Creation Day”, and extends to October 4th, the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi each year. It is a time designated by Christian churches across the world to celebrate the gifts of God’s Creation and to call us to conversion and responsibility regarding our “Common Home”.
As Pope Francis has said,
This is the time to re-acquaint ourselves with praying immersed in nature, where our gratitude to the Creator God arises spontaneously.”
Justin Welby, Anglican Archbishop of Canterbury, invites us to
find again a true vision of what being made in the image of God and caring for creation can mean, and commit ourselves to action.”
Music, Scripture, contemporary readings, meditation, and thanksgiving will bring us together in an ecumenical gathering to reflect upon and to make choices for the promotion and preservation of the integrity of creation.
No cost but donation if desired
All welcome!
