Bereaved Mother’s Retreat

This retreat is offered through a partnership between Bereaved Families of Ontario – Durham and the Villa St. Joseph.  Designed to deepen awareness of how the loss of our children has impacted our lives as women and mothers, this weekend of prayer, candle lighting, meditation, workshops and group discussion sessions focuses on personal, psychological and spiritual growth.

 Facilitators:  Susan Hendricks and Joyce MacIntyre, bereaved mothers with training and education in psychology and group process. Susan, a co-founder of BFO – Durham, is an Associate of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Canada.  Joyce is status Haudenosaunee with the Six Nations and a published poet and artist.

 Registration is co-ordinated by Joyce MacIntyre and is limited to 16 participants. Mothers whose experience of loss is at least three years prior to the retreat and who have attended a bereavement self-help group are given priority.

Cost:  $225 for accommodation at the Villa ($100 downpayment and $125 upon arrival)

           $110 program fee (non-refundable if late cancellation)
