For the past twenty years, the Villa St. Joseph has partnered with Bereaved Families of Ontario – Durham Region to offer a weekend retreat for bereaved mothers. Facilitated by two bereaved mothers, Susan Hendricks (a CSJ Associate) and Joyce MacIntyre, this ministry seeks to create a safe and sacred place for parents to “undress their hearts” before the Creator and others who know and feel their pain. Within this loving circle of support ‘a new day dawns for those who weep’ and ‘their tears are turned into dancing’ … quite literally … as the weekend often incorporates sacred circle dancing into its prayer services, workshops, meditations and candle lighting.

Themed as “Wings of Hope,” this year the same retreat will be offered on two separate weekends: May 24-26 and May 31-June 1st.
